In reply to Andrew Lee. No. I expect for the founder of the Open Compute Project to make its own AI systems, as it has done for generations, and open source them. I expect Facebook Engineering to do what it has done for more than a decade now, and that is to innovate on different vectors that suits its particular needs. This whole article is so dumb it hurts. Buying from experts instead of trying to build is bad? Is your brain damaged? Then again, if they announced they were building it you’d be writing an article making fun of that because they should just leave it to the experts.

Microsoft buy Meta? You must be smoking a very strong substance. And since when does a company say they are going to “build” something and not partner with experts in that domain? By your standard for build, Meta should begin with slicing off the wafers from the silicon ingot.
